communing with Christ for body, mind, spirit integration with God

The Temple of God

Most people have heard that their body is the temple of God. Jesus said this in defiance of the Sanhedrin and their insistence that the temple at Jerusalem was the only authorized place to worship God. As keepers of the temple, they claimed that the high priest was the intermediary between God and man. They further claimed that this was only conducted in the inner sanctum of the temple behind a veil which was forbidden to enter by any of the public. This veil was mysteriously rent asunder at the moment of Jesus’ death on the cross at the same exact time there was a total solar eclipse. This demarcation in time and space was the point where God ended the first covenant with the Israelites. The people had rejected the covenant by not obeying God’s rules.
Jesus alone, fulfilled the covenant by complete obedience to God’s will. From that point in time (Jesus death); the second covenant went into effect. Anyone who remained in Christ was the recipient of all the promises in the old testament because Jesus was the only one eligible to inherit those promises of all the children of Abraham.
Jesus said, the correct way to worship God was in truth and Spirit within the holy temple that was the physical body. Since Jesus is Truth, living a life of honesty is the correct way to worship God. As it was spoken in Psalm 50:23 of the KJV bible: “to him who orders his conversation aright, I will show the salvation of God”. If you want to know Jesus; Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Way to know Truth is to live a Life of honesty.
With this in mind, I want to discuss how this will be manifest in the life of a believer.
Many people are concerned with the curb appeal of their house; yet totally neglect the curb appeal of God’s temple (the place where Jesus said is the correct place to worship God). The way you take care of God’s temple is a direct reflection of your reverence for God. If your temple is only adorned with expensive clothes but is hung with excess fat, tattoos and piercing; the truth of your respect for God is visibly evident for all to see. If you own a home that you rent out and your renter defaces the home with graffiti; will you want to continue to rent to that person? God is very patient but he will not extend more responsibility to anyone who does not show responsibility for what has been put in his care. We are called to be good stewards. If you find it difficult to treat your body with the respect that is due for God’s temple; call on God for help. There is nothing more sure than that God will help when you ask for help obeying his command.
